- May 12, 2008 -- Tina Turner will hit 17 cities across the
U.S. and Canada this fall in her first concert tour in eight years.
The 68-year-old music legend will start things off Oct. 1st at Sprint
Center in Kansas City, MO and work her way throughout North America
before wrapping Dec. 8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
The brand new stage show is being produced by AEG Live and will feature
hits spanning Turner’s entire career.
“After performing with Beyonce at The Grammy Awards, the response was
overwhelming,” said Turner in a statement. “Everywhere I went people
were asking me when I was going back on tour. So after a lot of thought
and planning, I can answer the only way I know how …. See you in Kansas
City where we’ll kick the tour off!”
"I was at the Armani show in Milan just chatting with Sophia Loren. I
told her I was taking a break. She said for how long… I said oh, seven
years. She said, 'Break over. People want to see you. Get back to work,'
" Turner says on the May 8 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
